Built on high quality blanks, with the distinctive Diaflash finish, these rods open up specialist Sea Bass fishing to the masses, although Shimano suggest you don’t just limit the use of these rods to just one species. They also make excellent lure rods for other shallow in-shore saltwater species to be found throughout Europe.

The distinctive weave that can be seen on the Bassterra XT Sea Bass is created by Shimano’s exclusive Diaflash technology, which increases power and strength to specific areas of the Full Carbon blank. In the lower part of the rod this is used to generate the power to cast lures to distant feeding fish, or to take total control when playing fish near rocks and other structures. In the tip section it creates increased response which in turn makes lure control more effective and fishing more enjoyable. Available in 5 models covering light, medium, medium heavy actions, to cover all of the popular Sea Bass lure sizes from as small as 4g up to large 65g crankbaits and metal jigs, the BassterraXT is finished with high quality Fuji Stainless Steel Fazlite guides, a VSS reel seat and a split EVA handle.

DIAFLASH is a reinforced structure that prevents twisting of the butt section in situations where high-intensity is applied, for example during casting and fighting with fish. Due to the effect of DIAFLASH it becomes possible to convey the pulling power of the angler to the target fish while minimizing the loss of energy by flexing of the butt section.
