This reel was an ex display reel which does have one or two slight marks from handing but you do have to look for them. Bomb proof little reels that will go on for ever.

Prepare for Penn Battle II Spinning Reel
The Penn Battle II is a relaunch of the old Penn Battle reel. The older model was a favourite with fresh and saltwater anglers but the new revamped model includes a bigger range of reels to cover light, inshore freshwater fishing to things like Marlin, Sailfish and bigger game fish species. For example the Battle II 2000 model balances really well with 7-8ft spinning rods and is very lightweight.
Key Battle II Reel Improvements
There are a host of new improvements in the Penn Battle II reel which significantly increases the reel's lifespan and offer better performance. For example in the Battle 2000 there's a bigger rotor and bigger spool for 10 to 15lb braid which allows you plenty of leverage when playing fish that like to run. This in a addition to line capacity rings help you judge how much line is left when you are hooked into a fish and helps you determine if you need to move to retrieve some line. The Battle 2 also features keyed drag washers in the spool which gives you 20% more drag than previous Battle models. This gives you great confidence knowing that you have more drag force in reserve when you are playing, and need to stop, harder fighting fish. Another key improvement is the ball bearings. Penn have added another layer of protection to the bearings to make the reel even more saltwater proof. This follows from the recurring problem of saltwater drying, crystallising and causing the reel to sound crunchy and rough, so the new model is even more water-tight than ever!

Battle II Spinning Reels have Penn's HT-100 Versa-Drag washers keyed into the spool which allows both sides of each drag washer to be used. This gives the Battle II higher max drags, more range, and smoother start ups than the competition. All HT-100 washers are greased with Penn's proprietary PENN grease for longevity. The Battle offers greater cosmetics, durability and silky smooth drag in addition to a full metal body construction for greater protection from wear and tear. Full metal body allows the reel to preserve its precision gear alignment under extreme stress or heat. The Superfine spool in the Battle features a rubber gasket which keeps suplerlines from slipping.
