Rarely seen in the UK this British made fly reel has been fished with and is in used condition as you can see. Made for R.L.Winston in limited numbers by Hardy in the Alnwick factory, these are ambidextrous reels and are built a little wider than the equivalent Perfect models of the time.

Winston say: While we've kept the original diameters( 2 7/8", 3 1/8", 3 3/8"), the spools have been widened to add capacity; the reels now handle larger lines and weigh less. Other improvements include a counter clockwise screw that secures the spool when palm dragging, an adjustable, easily reversible drag and line guard, and four rows of drilled holes for lighter weight. The reels are made from bar stock aluminum rather than poured aluminum, and all visible parts are Nickel Silver
